Today was scheduled the 2nd stage of the 100 km ultramarathon of Magraid 2018, the “ultramarathon” stage of 55 km called “Grave”, starting from the company “I Magredi”, in Domanins. Among the men he won the 1st place Gianluca Pietra from Pavia in 5:16:46, second place for Ivan Zufferli from Udine, in 5:24:01 (2nd also yesterday). Third place for Stefano Marcello Burlon (5:30:40). The new leader of the general is now Zufferli, with less than a minute ahead of Pietra and 12 minutes on Burlon. As for the women, to record the emotional arrival at the finish line at the same time of the two leaders of the ranking after the first stage, Paola Floretti and Lorena Piastra, who completed the course in 5:49:42. The third classified was Paola Giuliani, arrived at the finish line in 7:13:39. Floretti is still leading the general, with 1 minute and 40 seconds of margin on Piastra, winner of the last two editions of Magraid, third Giuliani, with a noticeable gap.
In addition to the 2nd stage of the 100 km there were two other important events during the day at the Parareit Base Camp in Cordenons. At 5.00 p.m. the “Magraid for SLA” 2 × 1 hour race relay took place, the novelty of this year whose proceeds will be donated to the Pordenone section of A.S.L.A. Onlus (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association). The team was joined by teams composed of two people, who alternated in the 2 hours scheduled (1 + 1), in a circuit near Parareit.
At 6.00 p.m. it was the turn of the tenth edition of “Magrave – 2nd Memorial Paola Franzo”, the historic non-competitive FIASP race on routes of 6 or 12 km in the SIC of Magredi, suitable for everyone, adults, families, children (in single or in a group). Magrave is an event linked to solidarity, with the aim of supporting all the women who fought and fought the battle against cancer. The brave women in pink of the “Pink Dragon” participated as a group, a project promoted by “Tappodivino”, an initiative that started at the end of 2012 thanks to the Pordenone Roberta Masat to raise funds for the oncological patients (Via di Natale of the CRO of Aviano and other associations of the territory) and that this year we support with the “Charity Magraid”.
In the afternoon there was also a stand of Iapb Italia Onlus, the Italian section of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness, represented by Tullio Frau, ultrarunner in the race in Magraid and president of the section of Pordenone. The objective is to promote the “Prevention does not go on holiday” initiative.
On Sunday 17th is scheduled the third and final stage of 25 kilometers called “Risorgive”, starting at 10.00 from the Base Camp. At 16.00 the prizes of the ultramarathon 100 km are scheduled.
